Michelle Vitner LMT
I have been working in the health profession for over 20 years as a nurse. Some of the areas I was privileged to work in were Pediatric well-child clinics, Geriatric care, Home care, Hospice, with special needs & disabled children/young adults, as well as in Mental Health and Addiction facilities.
Over the past 10 years, I have also worked as an energy practitioner and as of 2012, as a Massage Therapist, graduating from the Swedish Institute in Manhattan with 1000 hours of training. I specialize in providing home massage for professional, busy women in the area, knowing what it is like to have many responsibilities and the need to have time for ourselves. I also see clients in a studio in Mahopac, NY. I am also the co-owner of Putnam Healing Arts and Golden Spiral mobile spa.
My focus is on integrating the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions of healing. Using Swedish massage, Shiatsu and Reiki, I help ease chronic areas of tension, with relief from pain and discomfort.
Pain or discomfort is often a result of over-use or repetitive actions (answering a telephone or working at a computer all day) and massage can help the muscles let go of these habitual patterns, preventing long term back or postural problems too. I like to educate clients on stretches and self-care to prevent recurring pain. Massage is a beautiful way to increase health, prevent illness and feel more joy in our lives when we move away from old habits in body and mind.
This is a family-centered practice, with a special focus on women's care and busy women professionals. I also enjoy Prenatal and Postnatal massage, as well as working with infants and children- including those with special needs.
